WHO WE ARE
Maier Law Group (“MLG”) is a forward-thinking all-women boutique law firm specializing in employment and privacy law. Our offices are in Marin County, California, but we serve clientele all over the state and beyond. We are all moms (but open to dads and non-parents), and we work mostly from home when we are not meeting with clients. We do not merely espouse the concept of work-life balance -- we truly live it. We value finding a sense of meaning, joy, and fulfillment in our legal practice. We enjoy one another immensely as people and work colleagues. At the same time, we are committed to providing our clients an excellent work product and outstanding service. We are currently cultivating LA clients and seeking to establish a small presence there by contracting with or hiring an attorney who lives or works in LA.
WHOM WE SEEK
We seek an enthusiastic and experienced Los Angeles-based employment attorney and workplace investigator to provide services to MLG either as a contractor or part-time employee. The number of hours is TBD, depending on MLG client demand and availability and capabilities of applying attorney (someone with privacy experience, for example, could also handle privacy work for MLG). This attorney is licensed to practice law in the state of California, has workplace investigation experience, and has at least five (5) years of experience in the area of employment law. Once he or she joins our team, this attorney will conduct workplace investigations, advise and counsel employers and possibly litigate. This attorney enjoys practicing law, but not necessarily in the typical law firm environment. She or he aspires to work on engaging and intellectually challenging matters alongside intelligent and compassionate colleagues. Experience in privacy law, employment benefits, or a fluency in Spanish would be significant pluses.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer an incredibly unique work situation with flexible hours and the ability to work from home. Initially, we can provide anywhere from 10-40 hours of work per month for our nascent LA practice. If the attorney has his or her own practice and wishes to simply provide services sporadically based on investigation demand, we would pay hourly. If the attorney desires to be a part-time employee and receive a guaranteed minimum number of hours each week, he or she will be compensated based on a pro-rata salary.
