Xiaochen Chen is an employment attorney and investigator with a focus on workplace investigations and employment advice and counsel. She conducts impartial investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace concerns, and prepares clear, thorough reports to support informed decision-making. She also advises employers on a wide range of California and federal issues, including wage and hour compliance, accommodations, leaves of absence, employee discipline, and separations. In addition, she helps clients improve internal policies, handbooks, and training programs.
Before joining Maier Law Group, Xiaochen practiced at Fisher Phillips and Davis Wright Tremaine, where she defended employers in employment litigation and handled all aspects of case strategy, discovery, and resolution. She regularly advised on compliance matters, accommodations, leave management, and employee relations, and conducted workplace investigations across a variety of industries. Her experience includes delivering customized training in both English and Mandarin and contributing to national publications on employment law developments.
Xiaochen is passionate about helping clients build workplaces that reflect their values and goals. At Maier Law Group, she focuses on providing practical, legally sound guidance with care and clarity. She values relationships built on trust and sees each client as a partner in creating healthy, respectful work environments.
Outside of work, Xiaochen enjoys exploring Los Angeles with her husband and their two dogs and is always on the lookout for her next go-to neighborhood restaurant.
